The Unexpected Key to Unlocking Your Potential

The Unexpected Key to Unlocking Your Potential

Some of you are so adept at compiling what’s wrong with your life and expressing fatigue with this and that. If there were a certification for complaining and ingratitude, you’d have earned an MBA in it. Listen, birds eat the worm, and life isn’t fair. Problems are inevitable; pain, stagnation, feelings of neglect, and incompleteness are all part of life. You cannot live without experiencing some of these feelings, but if you want a better life, you must accept the reality that you can intentionally rise above pessimism, as that is something only you can do for yourself.

Do something daily to build yourself and prepare for the life you actually want. This may seem easy and simple, but an empty bucket will eventually become full, even if it’s just a daily drop of water. It’s no wonder they say, “A drop of water makes an ocean.” If you examine it closely, 1% daily growth for a year amounts to 365% growth in a year. While 300% growth may seem insignificant initially, when viewed on a larger scale, it’s substantial. So is your life; consistent small steps towards the life you desire may seem insignificant until you persist, and you’ll be amazed at the sudden progress when your life begins to take off.

In today‚Äôs digital age, having a strong set of digital skills is vital for success in the job market. Nigeria, being one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa, is no exception. With the rise of e-commerce and online businesses, the demand for professionals with digital skills is increasing. Life is progressing, transforming, and continuously improving. If you fail to acknowledge this, the world will leave you behind while you blame your background, family, or past trauma. Everyone has faced challenges in their life like you have. You are not unique. Newton’s first law of motion states that a body remains at rest or in uniform motion unless acted upon by an external force. Regardless of praying, wishing, lamenting, or groaning, the story continues until you bring in another value or have something to offer in exchange for the life you want. Pick yourself up and wipe away your self-pity. You’ll only get crumbs with such a mentality. Instead, learn something new to add to what you already know. My advice is to learn a digital skill that is quick to learn and flexible, such as digital marketing, copywriting, graphic design, social media management, cloud maintenance, data analysis, and more.

If you seek a reason not to act now, you’ll find more than enough excuses. Excuses abound, regardless of how rational or irrational your current circumstances are. The world responds only to your level of trust in yourself and your willingness to take risks. It doesn’t respond to excuses. Life only responds to external effort and input before yielding results. Motivation is important, but habit and consistency are what you truly need. No matter what happens, strive not to give excuses a chance.

Do your part and leave the nature of the world to fate because, believe it or not, it will play its part. Did you know that the world is looking for whom to use and whom to reward? That’s why, on a daily basis, some people randomly encounter rewards while others face doom. Believe and have faith by doing what you can control, and inevitably, you are likely to be acknowledged, recommended, commended, and appreciated by someone who notices the value you can add.

I hope this was worth the read. See you at the top, buddy.
